I have been attempting to manifest some desires through prayer for weeks. I stand straight and use a particular hand mudrá to recieve divine consciousness( chaitanya in our language). Then I ask God whatever I want. Then thank tha universe and touch my chests for the chaitanya to enter heat chakra.
My friend says doing so destroys my spiritual powers. Is it right? Also, is the way I use right for a petition granted from God? Does He really listen to what I ask ?
Sometimes I will be some more good and will ask him spiritual things only. I want to know more about prayer manifestation techniques since I feel like I must master this art not for my selfish needs, but for the society. Any open minded views are accepted. Thank you

How can you talk to god, if you are afraid of him, so somehowe our friend tells you that you will loose your spiritual power? Gain some confidence and do something, that you give a reason to listen to you. I see only, that you are too afraid of everything and ask yourself, why you are asking that kind of questions?
