Astrology and Its Complications
Would you have your life read (using different methods in astrology - either Western or Chinese) and follow promptly to all the predictions, or would you make a real attempt to change your said life course?
From my understanding, there are 3 types of luck :
1. Heaven Luck
2. Earth Luck
3. Man Luck
Heaven Luck is what we know as Destiny or Fate. It is given to us from the time we are born. There is always a reason why we are born at a specific time and not an hour before or later. Even if the mother opts for a Caesarian, there is a reason in that as well. Everything is linked somehow or the other. As a Buddhist, I believe that the effects and definition of Destiny is also 'karma' - the universal truth of what you do comes back to you. As we believe in reincarnation, this type of karma is from your previous lives - e.g. what you have done in one of your previous lives cause this coming 10 years of bad luck. Contrary to popular opinion, Heaven Luck CAN be changed - but only with the strongest of wills and tonnes of hard work as well as self-disciplince. From a Buddhist point of view, it also means that you have to be kinder, better and nicer to people, do more good deeds etc.
Earth Luck is, in this context what we know as Feng Shui. Most of you know the ins-and-outs of Earth luck and its effects. Earth luck and Heaven luck is connected - e.g. a person born with a great, amazing life in front of him may find himself rich and prosperous even though he does not know Feng Shui and its applications. It is a huge possibility that is Heaven luck already 'transfer' him to a place with natural good Feng Shui which he does not know about. If this particular person knows Feng Shui (traditional of course) and choose to apply it, that will increase his fortunes to an extent, assisted by his Heaven luck. So this is my basic explanation for a rich tycoon being rich and prosperous without the knowledge of Feng Shui.
Man Luck is of course, our actions and is strongly linked with Heaven Luck and Earth Luck. I strongly believe that even with the best Feng Shui in the world, one will achieve nothing if one does nothing about it. Something I like to say - you can activate your romance luck for all you like, but the perfect person will not fall from the sky straight into your lap in the comforts of your living room.
If you know, or have a slight idea of your Heaven Luck, then with your Man Luck it is possible to maximise your potentials, e.g. during your good luck period, and minimise your bad luck periods. For example, if your Bazi says that there will be a really bad clash between you and your spouse during a certain year - could lead to divorce - you can choose to divert it by moving away for that year. Get a job another place where you will be separated from your spouse for a year, then come back when that period is over. Lots of hard work and complications to do these things, yes but if you have seen the accuracy of real Bazi (like I have) then you may be persuaded to use your Man luck to find different ways and solutions to overcome it.
When I started learning Bazi, many of my friends ask this question, "If you know what heaven is giving you, wouldn't you be tempted to let heaven takes its course and not doing anything to prevent bad things from happening?"
After I gave them the definition of Man Luck, I sat down and thought it over carefully. If I know that my true Prince Charming is coming at 40 years old - does it mean that I just have to sit and wait at home, doing other stuff, not wanting to attach myself to anybody else and just get married at 40?
Unfortunately that is not how it works. But that is what most people think how it works. Hence I concluded that it boils down to personality as well.
If A is the type to let things get to him with a defeatist attitude, then he probably will have the kind of life that his Bazi states.
If B is the type to see things and take them as they come, with a challenging attitude, determined to maximise, minimise and hopefully change his life course, then his life could end up for the better.
The difference between A and B is merely their personalities. Which by just one word could say how well astrology works for you.
Well that is all I have to offer at the moment, perhaps with more discussions this mind of mine could open up again.
