First of all hi everyone !!! I've had a though time deciding which category I should post this topic since IMO Manifestation, Magick and Psychic powers are very similar, but I choose this one because it's closer to the "truth" of what this power is

Ever since I've watched The Secret I've been searching for the truth behind it. I used to wander through the website Powerful Intentions for a long time, and unfortunately the only thing it made me feel was more resistance towards the "LOA". Not only I have a hard time dealing with my skepticism(I feel that manifestation, remote influencing and "magick" do exist but I don't believe it 100%), but the whole New Ager approached only aggravated it since in my mind it made no sense that powers like this worked all the time and that they only worked for good.

So after I left that site for good and I started reading other stuff from Lynn McTaggert, Russel Targ, Cory Skyy (A "PUA" that advocated the use of the visualization and affirmations to become a ladies man, in other words psychic seduction), José Silva and finally I ended up in Chaos Magick.

Looking back at what those authors say, this phenomenon that I refuse to call LOA for the bad connotations it brings me, say basically the same thing (Go to alpha state, visualize and feel what you desire in a very specific way and do it everyday), except Chaos Magick. It's obvious that the driving force behind Magick is the same, and I love their "free" point of view on this "power" , but they use the methods of Sigils and Gnosis.

Sigils basically is making a sigil, empowering it in Gnosis and forgetting about it, because the subconscious will never forget that the sigil was made and it will work on it without conscious resistance.

Yet the other techniques say we should visualize in alpha state our desire every day.

What would you guys say it's the best way ? Also what's the difference of gnosis and visualizing in the alpha state ? Both require you to meditate to a certain level and then having you to visualize either the situation you want to become true or visualize more abstract things like energy flowing through your body (depending on your goal) or visualize entities that will help you.

you should look up Gnosticism to learn more of the gnosis

I'm not very clear on what exactly it is you are trying to achieve based on your posting.

In general, go with your feelings on things. If your instincts don't feel that something is 'right', then the best advice is to not go there. Too few people pay attention to their instincts. Follow your gut. If something feels 'hinkey', then it probably is. If you get such a feeling, it is usually your internal guidance system telling you that whatever it is is not for you.

Maybe a little more clarification on what you are working to achieve will give some guidance as to what may better suit you. If it is learning magic in general, I'm sure there are others here better qualified to guide you. I have not taken the path of magic myself.

There is no good or bad..but thinking makes it so..

The driving force behind Magick, ESP/LOA, Manifestation, Remote Viewing,etc... are all BELIEF and Directing Energy,etc

If you're skeptical about something working then chances are it won't work for you..

I would say the best way is for you to experiment and see which works best for you...and then you have your best way!!!

Whatever tickles your fancy is where you'll find most empowerment for you..
