I am new on this forum and would first like to say Happy New Year to all of you.

I was wondering if someone could give me some insight to something that has been bothering me for a while. Let me give you an example to help make things more clear. Normally there are three things that we are concerned about at any one time, Wealth, Health and Relationships.

I will use relationships in my example, in particular love of another person. Now suppose I am really in love with a particular person and want them to take notice of me, so I send them love using as much emotion and feeling as I can. I am terrible with visualizations so try to imagine to the best of my abilities as to the outcome already happened.

I do this for 5 to 10 minutes 3 times a day. Now I have read that after you have sent your requests to the universe, God, higher self or whatever you call it, you should forget about it and just get on with your day...to let go of your goal. I try doing that by trying to stay busy but here comes my problem, since I do this 3 times a day I know I have to do it again and so how can I act as if my wish has already been granted if I have to repeat the whole process over and over again?

I'm not sure if I am making sense here but even if I do this just once a day, don't I contradict myself by repeating the process over and over again until my goal has manifested? Sad

Hi, and happy new year to you, too!

I'm also new to the group, so let me see if I can help.

First, how do you know that this person is right for you? Sometimes things don't work out because you'd be worse off if you did get what you wanted.

Also, when we make our choices based on ego rather than spirit, we far too easily get caught up with the wrong people, then spend forever trying to make it right.

So if there is a chance this person isn't right for you, then i wouldn't focus on her at all. Just send your energy to an energy ball in human form that represents your soul mate...and intend for the person who matches this energy to come to you and to let you know she's the right one. Send love to this faceless being, talk to her at night and let her know you'll take good care of her.

I did this and it worked within six months.

Now, specifically to letting go, I think it's a good idea to turn it over to someone else....like mystx here. He's running a special, so why not spring for 10 or 15 bucks and let him worry about it for you? It's sometimes easier to let go when a human is working on your behalf, rather than the nameless, faceless, abstract Universe...which is why we humans tend to anthromorphize our divine beings.

This is also something that I found somewhat as a paradox: willing something but also letting go of it.

Here's how I have integrated it.

Our desires are usually external as this is what we're naturally used to from the very beggining. Whether it be a better home, better relationship, better income... whatever we THINK will make us happier. However, as one progrsses on a spiritual path, one tends to realize that those things bring only short-term happiness and that true fulfillment comes first and foremost from within. As we evolve so does our desires. Although one may be blessed with having many possessions, the more advanced spiritually one is the less attached one is to all those material possessions, and what remains is what one becomes as well as one's ability to serve others. When one realizes this, desires are more and more directed towards other's happiness.

In short: Some people try so hard to get stuff, to position themselves and to make themselves significant in the eyes of other people and find they consistently have to struggle to get there. On the other hand, you have other people trying very hard to love others and make others significant that people will return them their love and attention manyfolds, naturally.

I am not talking about becoming a slave or burning yourself out trying to please others, I'm talking about loving them. And when you love someone, all you want for that person is his or her own good.

Try to visualize that you hold a bunch of balloons in your hand. Into each one, put thoughts, feelings, and memories of the subject you wish to forget. Once done, visualize releasing the balloons, watching them fly up and up and away, disappearing into the vast skies above.

Repeat as often as desired. Try not to actually access the information you're sending away. Put it in the balloon and don't take it back out.
