According to one author similar events and circumstances keep occurring when we are stressed or exhausted. In the book 'Soul and Survival', the idea is that human beings are divided in two. One part of our nature is our soul - this is the ability to think outside of ourselves and is our rational consciousness. The second is our survival instinct which is a natural reaction to stress.
When our survival instinct is the dominant force we attract similar events and people into our lives. The reason for this is because our survival instinct is a program provided by nature to keep us safe and nothing more. Every living creature has its own survival instinct and so do human beings. However when our survival instinct is in control of our lives rather than conscious thought, history repeats itself because the survival instinct tries to recreate the past.
It does this for the simple reason that it knows what to do in a familiar situation but feels uncertain how to survive something new.
The way it reproduces events is by our attitude and our instinctive behaviour; most of the time we are not aware of this behaviour because we are doing it unconsciously.
We continue to attract a similar type of people when we are stressed because they are drawn towards us through our body language and face.
Our face is an outward projection of ourselves, designed to appeal or repel others. We cannot see our own face because it is not designed for us, even though it belongs to us.
Our survival instinct uses our face to attract the people we need.
The human face is designed to convey emotion. The soul or mind uses words, because its function is to interact and communicate about ideas. The face is the only medium we have to convey our emotional needs. As a result our survival instinct has adapted our face to best convey to others what we need most. Most of us know when the people we love are angry, hurt or upset, before they have even uttered a word because we know how to read their faces.
Unfortunately while some people will be genuine, others can also unconsciously read us and some may be more unscrupulous. This is why some people when they are out of balance and their survival instinct is dominant, keep drawing towards them the same type of people who want to use them for the same type of reasons.
At www.soulandsurvival.com there is a free facial analysis wizard leading to a book that explains these concepts in detail. It is one of the most enlightening books you will ever read.
