I hope that experts like ColinGS will comment these statements.

The main teaching in the field of mind power and manifestation is: that a person is the creator of his experience, reality and future. On the other side there exist psychic reading which is meant to predict someones future.
So a question rises here: how is it possible to predict the future if the person is the creator of his future.

The following is my opinion (Im dont know if its correct or wrong - thats why i need someone who has knowledge and experience) :

1. The basics of almost any mind power ability are Mental Concentration, Will Power, Belief, and Mental Visualization. I think that these abilities must be developed to high extent.
-Mental Concentration - (Attention, Focus) - the ability to concentrate on a single thing or thought for a longer period of time while all other thoughts and distracting things are banished (excluded). There are many techniques and exercises for developing and strengthening the mental concentration. These are some of the exercises (taken from other resources):

Exercise 1
Take a book and count the words in any one paragraph. Count them again to be sure that you have counted them correctly. Start with one paragraph and when it becomes easier, count the words in a whole page. Perform the counting mentally and only with your eyes, without pointing you finger at each word.

Exercise 2
Count backwards in your mind, from one hundred to one.

Exercise 3
Count in your mind from one hundred to one, skipping each three numbers, that is 100, 97, 94, etc.

Exercise 4
Choose an inspiring word, or just a simple sound, and repeat it silently in your mind for five minutes. When your mind can concentrate more easily, try to reach ten minutes of uninterrupted concentration.

Exercise 5
Take a fruit, an apple for example, and look at it from all sides. Concentrate your attention on it and examine it from all sides. Devote the whole session to concentrating on it. Do not be carried away by irrelevant thoughts that arise. Stay with the apple. It could be any other fruit. Look at it and do not think about the shop were you bought it, about the way it is grown, its nutritive value etc, only about the object in front of you. Just look at it, see it, smell it and touch it.

Exercise 6
This is the same as exercise number 5, only that this time you visualize the fruit with your eyes closed. Start by performing again exercise number 5 for five minutes, and then do this one. Try to see, feel, taste, smell the fruit in you imagination. Try to see a clear and well defined image. If difficulties arise open your eyes, look at the fruit, close them again and continue the exercise.

Exercise 7
Take a small simple object such as a spoon, a fork, or a glass. Concentrate on one of these objects. Watch the object from all sides without any verbalization, that is, with no words in your mind. Just watch the object without thinking with words about it.

Exercise 8
After becoming proficient in the above exercises, you can come to this exercise. Draw a small geometrical figure, about three inches in size, such as a triangle, a rectangular or a circle, paint it with any color you wish, and concentrate on it. You should see only the figure, nothing else. Only the figure exists for you now, with no unrelated thoughts or any distractions. Try not to think with words during the exercise. Watch the figure in front of you and that's it. Try not to strain your eyes.

Exercise 9
The same as number 8, only this time visualize the figure with the eyes closed. As before, if you forget how the figure looks like, open your eyes for a few seconds and watch the figure and then close your eyes and continue with the exercise.

Exercise 10
The same as above in number 9 but the eyes open.

Exercise 11
Try for at least five minutes, to stay without thoughts. This exercise is to be attempted only after all the previous ones have been performed successfully. The previous exercises, if practiced correctly, will endow you with the ability to impose silence on your thoughts. In time it will become easier and easier.

Exercise 12 The simplest, easiest attention and concentration exercise is for 3 minutes a day to sit 5 feet away from a black spot 2 inches in diameter on a wall trying to focus attention, to concentrate, to see nothing but that.

Exercise 13 Another attention and concentration exercise is studying carefully for a few minutes a picture or postcard of something unfamiliar to one (this must never be the picture of a person, nor a place where may have been or can be expected to be a person, nor animal ~it must be an unfamiliar scene -e.g. an artist's from imagination painted picture of mountains, fields; the same one always); then, after focusing attention, concentrating on it, one tries to recall details of it -daily increases success in focusing attention, concentration.

Exercise 14 Depending on one's time and interest, to exercise attention and concentration, one, in imagination, may expand a spot to a circle on a blank wall learning daily to more easily focus attention and concentrate. Later by focusing attention and concentration add in imagination a square around it; when can do that easily proceed in imagination by attention and concentration to pull toward you the centre of that circle to form a cone; as gets easier focus of attention and concentration, then a pyramid -daily improved attention and concentration will enable to easily change their colour and paint them in imagination in many different colors.

If you have any other exercises or techniques post them. Also i need some expert advice about the above exercises - are they inaccurate or there is a need of modifying - anything - post your comments.

-Will Power - The will power is one of the basic but important abilities
Here are some exercises to strengthen the Will (the exercises are from other resources):

New Methods of Will-Training. Select a quiet room where you will not be interrupted; have a watch to determine the time, and a note-book in which to enter observations. Start each exercise with date and time of day.

Exercise 1

Time decided on. Select some time of the day when most convenient. Sit in a chair and look at the door-knob for ten minutes. Then write down what you experienced. At first it will seem strange and unnatural. You will find it hard to hold one position for ten minutes. But keep as still as you can. The time will seem long for it will probably be the first time you ever sat and did nothing for ten minutes. You will find your thoughts wandering from the door-knob, and you will wonder what there can be in this exercise. Repeat this exercise for six days.

10 PM. 2nd Day.

Notes. You should be able to sit quieter, and the time should pass more quickly. You will probably feel a little stronger because of gaining a better control of your will. It will brace you up, as you have kept your resolution.

10 PM. 3rd Day.

Notes. It may be a little harder for you to concentrate on the door-knob as perhaps you had a very busy day and your mind kept trying to revert to what you had been doing during the day. Keep on trying and you will finally succeed in banishing all foreign thoughts. Then you should feel a desire to gain still more control. There is a feeling of power that comes over you when you are able to carry out your will. This exercise will make you feel bigger and it awakens a sense of nobility and manliness. You will say, "I find that I can actually do what I want to and can drive foreign thoughts out. The exercise, I can now see, is valuable."

10 PM. 4th Day.

Notes. I found that I could look at the door-knob and concentrate my attention on it at once. Have overcome the tendency to move my legs. No other thoughts try to enter as I have established the fact that I can do what I want to do and do not have to be directed. I feel that I am gaining in mental strength. I can now see the wonderful value of being the master of my own will-force. I know now if I make a resolution I will keep it. I have more self-confidence and can feel my self-control increasing.

10 PM. 5th Day.

Notes. Each day I seem to increase the intensity of my concentration. I feel that I can center my attention on anything I wish.

10 PM. 6th Day.

Notes. I can instantly center my whole attention on the door-knob. Feel that I have thoroughly mastered this exercise and that I am ready for another.

You have practiced this exercise enough, but before you start another I want you to write a summary of just how successful you were in controlling the flitting impulses of the mind and will. You will find this an excellent practice. There is nothing more beneficial to the mind than to pay close attention to its own wonderful, subtle activities.

Exercise 2

Secure a package of playing cards. Select some time to do the exercise. Each day at the appointed time, take the pack in one hand and then start laying them down on top of each other just as slowly as you can, with an even motion. Try to get them as even as possible. Each card laid down should completely cover the under one. Do this exercise for six days.

1st Day.

Notes. Task will seem tedious and tiresome. Requires the closest concentration to make each card completely cover the preceding one. You will probably want to lay them down faster. It requires patience to lay them down so slowly, but benefit is lost if not so placed. You will find that at first your motions will be jerky and impetuous. It will require a little practice before you gain an easy control over your hands and arms. You probably have never tried to do anything in such a calm way. It will require the closest attention of your will. But you will find that you are acquiring a calmness you never had before. You are gradually acquiring new powers. You recognize how impulsive and impetuous you have been, and how, by using your will, you can control your temperament.

2nd Day.

Notes. You start laying the cards down slowly. You will find that by practice you can lay them down much faster. But you want to lay them down slowly and therefore you have to watch yourself. The slow, steady movement is wearisome. You have to conquer the desire of wanting to hurry up. Soon you will find that you can go slowly or fast at will.

3rd Day.

Notes. You still find it hard to go slowly. Your will urges you to go faster. This is especially true if you are impulsive, as the impulsive character finds it very difficult to do anything slowly and deliberately. It goes against the "grain." This exercise still is tiresome. But when you do it, it braces you up mentally. You are accomplishing something you do not like to do. It teaches you how to concentrate on disagreeable tasks. Writing these notes down you will find very helpful.

4th Day.

Notes. I find that I am beginning to place the cards in a mathematical way. I find one card is not completely covering another. I am getting a little careless and must be more careful. I command my will to concentrate more. It does not seem so hard to bring it under control.

5th Day.

Notes. I find that I am overcoming my jerky movements, that I can lay the cards down slowly and steadily. I feel that I am rapidly gaining more poise. I am getting better control over my will each day, and my will completely controls my movements. I begin to look on my will as a great governing power. I would not think of parting with the knowledge of will I have gained. I find it is a good exercise and know it will help me to accomplish my tasks.

6th Day.

Notes. I begin to feel the wonderful possibilities of the will. It gives me strength to think of the power of will. I am able to do so much more and better work now, that I realize that I can control my will action. Whatever my task, my will is concentrated on it. I am to keep my will centered there until the task is finished. The more closely and definitely I determine what I shall do, the more easily the will carries it out. Determination imparts compelling force to the will. It exerts itself more. The will and the end act and react on each other.

7th Day.

Notes. Now try to do everything you do today faster. Don't hurry or become nervous. Just try to do everything faster, but in a steady manner.

You will find that the exercises you have practiced in retardation have steadied your nerves, and thereby made it possible to increase your speed. The will is under your command. Make it carry out resolutions rapidly. This is how you build up your self-control and your self-command. It is then that the human machine acts as its author dictates.

- Mental Visualization - is the ability to visualize a subject in the mind's eye. I dint find any specific exercises for developing mental visualization so if you have any please post them - ill be thankful.

- Belief - There is not much to say about it -/ What You believe is what you get-\

2. Final:

If any of you are experienced or involve in this - post and share your experiences and findings.

I will recommend this to some friends of mine.

In the past I had this little book of a lot of white magick spells and they had this one concentration exercise I used to use that really helped me, because I was severely scatter-brained.

It was just you watch the second-hand of a clock. If your eyes divert elsewhere you start over. Your goal at first is to watch it go around the clock for one whole minute. That might take like ten, fifteen minutes to do the first time. The next goal is two minutes. If you can do two, you go for five. If you can do five, you go for ten, if you can do ten, you go for fifteen, and if you can do fifteen you go for half an hour and if you can go half an hour your goal is then to do it for one hour.

I felt half an hour and one hour were a bit hardcore for me. I did make it to fifteen minutes once.

I was lucky in that the gym I went to had a clock with a moving second hand that I could watch from a treadmill or exercise bike, so it was kind of two birds with one stone, do cardio, train for concentration.

I haven't done the exercise in some years but I test myself sometimes to see how long I can go, and I can usually stick it to 3 or 4 minutes just out of the blue, in one try.

If I had gone for the hour I might have been a lot more developed. The exercises you mentioned are a lot more interesting than watching a clock though. Very Happy
