1. Never ask for help. It just shows you're stupid. Doing everything on your own is a sign of independance and capability.

2. Never stop to plan for the future. There's so many urgent things that need your immediate attention. Even the best plans degenerate into work and who needs more of that?

3. Always listen when people say you can't. They all know better than you. And surround yourself with people who've never achieved anything and make sure you do exactly what they do.

4. Keep changing your mind. Why settle for what you wanted earlier when new things are always more interesting.

5. Never borrow money. Good businesses should make a profit from the first day.

6. Avoid reponsibility at every opportunity. It dulls your creativity and Spiritual Freedom. Best to recognise the importance of your own liberty (if you're not free, how can you help anyone else be free?) and always decline offers that might tie you down.

7. Work, Work, Work, Work. Never have holidays or take time to celebrate successes and achievements. People who party when they could be working towards their goals are just pathetic slackers.

These have all worked for me in the past. Give them a try.

Patrick

Ditto to that. I half agree with some of those.....

One of my personal mottos is, 'why rely on other people when you can rely on yourself.'

'Always do your best to live in the moment, and not in the future nor the past'

'Consider the truth of those who surround you. As most of them are mirror reflections of yourself.'

'Don't be static in your decisions, the world isn't a static place, and is always changing. Be open to change, and other ideas, less you stagnate.'

'What doesn't kill me, makes me stronger'

So...I think I'll have to politely disagree with your opinion.

probably about the changing your mind type deal unless this is specific for manifestation. I find I change my ideas on life constantly. I never Plan for the future, i live in the present because I cant trust the fact that I even exist in the past or future. I never really ask for help because I never really need to. There are very few circumstances where i need to.

yes it's always better to think positive...and not negative...

only reason for thinking about negative things is to analyze it so you will know what to avoid thinking.

remember...our thoughts have the power to shape our lives....

That what, postive is better than negetive?

Don't know if I can agree with that, negetivity tends to make people grow, evolve, become better people. Though total negetivity will destroy you, total postivity will make you a very boring, and ignorent soul.

But I guess being a Grey energetic I belive everything both postive and negetive, in balanced amounts are necessary for total evolution. Just my perspective though.

Some wise words there.

Just gotta say though, I feel like the majority of people on this forum have missed the point that Patrick Holden wants to get accross.

He said '7 habits of highly unsuccessful people.' Therefore stating that the statements made by him are those that will produce unsuccessfulness. Even though he said they've all worked for him in the past, I think he's saying the obvious and not that we should go out and try them, that is if you don't want unsuccessfulness.

Patrick, correct me if I'm wrong, and I apologise to all you lovelies if I am, but aren't you saying something along the lines of;
'Learn what not to do before you learn what to do'-?
It's like- Do not steal, Do not kill, Do not lie...etc', some would say that these are a negative way of doing things but if you practise so-called positive ways first such as, be nice, tell the truth, be charitable...etc and you haven't learnt the 'don't do's' first then you could be in the situation of giving loads of money to charity with the source of the money being crime, which some would say cancels out the benevolance of the act.

I'm not saying it's how things should be done, or that it's not not how things should be done, that's personal choice, I is jus' wondering if that's the point you were making.

tALLYHO!

Aha, yeah...

Exwan I think I see where your coming from.

Though sometimes telling people what your mistakes are, or what common mistakes are, doesn't mean you learn them. Thats why often people will ask information from the master up high, and he will answer in a riddle. Because its far better to learn the truth for yourself, than to just hear it.

However certain statements from that list do have some merrit to them. So I don't think doing the opposites of each of them would make you "highly sucessful"....but then again it was never stated what you would be highly sucesssful in the first place.....

Maybe a highly sucessful buisness entrepreneur; but thats assuming that having a highly sucessful buisnness would make you happy, content, and at peace with the world.....with some sure...but others not.

Lol...all this does is teach you what not to do...excwan had it.

It doesn't really work for Patrick. He's being sarcastic. XD

The point of this is...do exactly the opposite of what the 7 say. They're from a book called "The 7 Habits of Highly Sucessful People." I have it.
