Hi I must apologize in advance cos this will seem like a really basic question. But I've never been entirely clear on what people mean when they talk about the process of ascension. Is it a mystical experience like astral projection, but to a higher plane? Or does it relate to what happens when you die in some way?
Or maybe the term has different meanings for different people.

I am not completely sure about it. But i think it's possibly when you reach a level of great insight and are able to tune into your abilities easily. And those abilities are also stronger...

You're right it is a state of awareness. I have gained a good deal of insight through reading an ebook called 'The New Earth'. Apparantly ascension consists basically of a shift into what is commonly called Christ Conciousness. And apparantly the world isn't neccesarily going to end on 12/12/2012 but instead the whole world will undergo a huge change in conciousness. That's a relief. Very Happy

Ascension often refers to stopping the need or desire to incarnate into a physical form and remain a spirit. At that point, you can further your studies or remain behind as a teacher to others. Sometimes, some of those that ascend have chosen to occassionaly materialize, sometimes stemming from the ability to planar shift, while they were alive, while others figure out how to do it after they've stopped materially incarnating. Some have chosn a form of ascension where they remain as an energy life form on the physical plane. How solid they could become depends on them.

Enlightenment and then onto Ascension.

Enlightenment is about releasing all lower vibrationary matter (karma) until the etheric body has released all karma, a natural rise in light and higher vibrations occur.
A change in biology happens also .. slowly achieving a crystalline molecular system and a raised consciousness (learning the Universal Truths of All That Is)

To do this work, one has to anchor all those that can help the initiate achieve ascension.. Earthmother, Nature Realms, (transcended) ancestors, elementals, guardians.
They mostly download information into our dream mechanism, but first karma must be cleared, as the dream initially is relaying our personal issues needing to be addressed (karma). THEN our dream is freed up to receive only ascension information.

This becomes a daily structure of communing and taking direction from these communing sources .. so a variety of tools are used.
Dream - tarot (if ascension programmed) - lucid dreaming - clairvision - (clairaudience is a bit suspect at the moment, so one will mostly be given information through the dream) penduluming and muscle-testing are ESSENTIAL.

Intuition is not enough - not near enough.

First one defines if Ascension is their destiny .. it is souls final evolutionary journey, and many beings have descended into Earth at this time to help us achieve (almost the impossible). Guardians, mentors, observers.
All those with an ascension blueprint are observed, they are waiting (those that are generally interested in sites such as these).
Unfortunately the dark agendas/ascended masters are watching you too.
So you need these tools to circumvent these corrupt dudes.

There are so many who have been awakened, but have been seduced to 'easy DNA activation programmes' quick karma release/chakra meditations - when there are no EASY DNA activation programmes, or quick karma release ... it is a daily process of communing, taking direction and releasing karma, until you come out the other side, totally sovereign and free.
Then you surrender this new-found freedom to terra and all ascension guardians, to be in World Service.

Sounds a lot? it certainly is a full time activity to ascend.
