I've always been mystified by things like good luck charms and items said to bring fortune or love and such. I am interested in some techniques as how to imbue your magical essence into a vessel and direct it towards a single purpose.

I had found myself at one point face to face with an imprint of my own aura one time though. I used to perform Taiko and I crafted my own bachi (sticks); I used them for years, never letting them leave my side. Somehow though it was as if they absorbed my negative energies, as anyone but me who used them tended to get hurt, and even when I bopped someone lightly, they tended to get blood blisters or sores. When I used them I would get a sense of power, as if my arrogance and hatred were amplified and directed my movements.

I couldn't perform without them...

I don't know if that's anything close to what I'm looking for though, if it's as simple as that...

Hmm, this will be tricky to answer.

It really depends on what you mean by "imbue with your magical essence".

There is charging, which is done by holding the object and visualizing the energy from you going into it, or a specific type of energy being put in.

There is also enchanting, where you charge the object with a spell or a specific function.

I personally want to learn golem making, a very complex form of enchantment that actually falls under the category of necromancy in some cases. It involves making a construct made of clay, wood, metal, anything organic, move and perform a specific function, like "guard me" or "carry this".

Now, the enchanting I do the most often is blessing an object or food. This is often called consecration, but I just call it blessing, as that is easier to say. You take in light and positive energies, then channel them into the object or food. It's best to keep it out of sunlight after that, since sunlight drains blessings and jinxes.

The benefits of consecrated food are that it's more nourishing and tastes better. Likewise, if you do the opposite and take dark and negative energies and put them in food, which is jinxing or cursing, it's less nourishing, and tastes worse.

The benefits of consecrated objects are that they, in my opinion, break less and stay cleaner. Also, they channel magic better, so it's good to consecrate an object before enchanting. Likewise, cursing an object makes it prone to breaking, dirtying, and not working the right way. However, it has no effect on channeling magic.

And one last thing... Some basic forcecraft spells can be used to imbue an object with elemental properties, and thus make charging easier. I'll post them here...

Omni bentidoct taura luminoct- fills object with the earth element
Omni bentidoct liquentis luminoct- fills object with the lava element
Omni bentidoct pyro luminoct- fills object with the fire element
Omni bentidoct thundora luminoct- fills object with the wind element
Omni bentidoct cyro luminoct- fills object with the ice element
Omni bentidoct hydro luminoct- fills object with the water element

...Do note that if the wording doesn't work, substitution of the words will. I myself cannot get much effect with the elemental words that are stated in the original file, so I make up my own, and they work fine.

Thought that I'd add the literal translations for the forecraft spells: "All empower with (element), enact!"

Also, you forgot the Void and Shadow elements:

Omni bentidoct voidus luminoct. - Fills an object with the Void element
Omni bentidoct opacus luminoct. - Fills an object with the Shadow element

Of course, there are many other elements, but I thought that these two were relevant enough to mention about enchantment.

Forcecraft... I remember that from that old site "Underground Dragon".

If you really want to work with the elements you should get into Initiation Into Hermetics. Google it. It's a tough read for some people, it's a bit old and obscure but it doesn't mess around.

The book also has many ways of 'enchanting' an object.

1. with your willpower and consciousness
2. with vital power and programmed goals
3. with an "electromagnetic volt" (very powerful energy battery that the book teaches you to create)
4. with any of the elements
5. with universal light

and others.

Quickest and easiest would be the vital power method.

Other than this, the book is useful for the whole range of magical interests.
