Hi. This may seem far fetched but I wondered if anyone could offer me guidance on the best path to learn space-time manipulation. I'm thinking like Hiro from Heroes . I just think it would be the coolest ability to have and would appreciate it if anyone could offer a few pointers.
thanks from

| Surprising to here form you d_redant. But I know of a very simple space/time manipulation. Here's how you perform it. Go for a walk everday for about a month (No it does not have to be everday, just as much as possible). As you do this, watch cars, people, bike and planes pass by you. Understand your realitive position and speed compared to them. Each day, say to yourself "They are only moving at that speed because I wish them to do so." Increase your gait and take notice of how their movement flow in a way that their "fields (auras for the unlearned)" bend. When the month comes to and end, run full speed with something fast, take a car for example, and beat it. I warn you that you won't be able to get enough air into your long when you stop. This really pushes you to your limit. |

That would be interesting to try.
I personally however, prefer to just alter the perception, as I hear it is possible to rip the time-space continuum by manipulating it directly. Some douche already did that once this lifetime according to what I know and I had to alert my "friends" on Olympus, mainly because they, the Atlantean, and Sumerian pantheons are the only ones I honestly get along with. |

| Scratch tearing the time space continuum. I tried that today and already time has slowed down majorly. I could actually see the difference after about five minutes. Time is still going obscenely slow here. |

dei could you point me at some resource that further explains what you're talking about, that sounds interesting.
could you for example slow down time & read a book faster? |

The best example of slowing down time is to do so and reach a certain place faster. Like for example, when I started experimenting with time perception adjustment spells, I could get to, say, the Bank of America from my house in five minutes, and that is 5 blocks, all done while walking. That's when I slowed time down. When I sped it up, the return trip took twelve minutes.
Basically, the most noticeable effect of time manipulation, whether it be the perception of time, or the actual flow, which is extremely difficult for even someone who hasn't had their power recycled to do (don't ask), is an increase or decrease in body speed and reaction time. When time is slowed, you speed up, and when it is accelerated, you slow down.
And, as for the beloved technique of speed reading, which I have mastered WITHOUT magical aid, it is easy to learn it without slowing down time. You just glance through the text while trying to remember as much information as possible. I took a class on it to get an understanding of how it works, and practiced it outside of college (which I never completed due to some black witches) so I could, say, read 500+ pages in one to three hours, which is about the size of one of Sherrylin Kenyon's books. |

I've not been successful in altering time, but I can tell you from experience a way NOT to do it.
Channeling energy into the eyes to increase the speed and quantity of light intake makes events appear slower and improves your reaction time rather acutely. However, it does nothing for the body. If moving faster is your goal, you can skip experimenting with this method.
Hope this saves you some time if you have considered trying this method. |

| Dale Power has posted an essay (trying to find the link, on psychicguild I think) about "Warping Time" - attempting to teleport, and while that didn't work as hoped he DID notice clocks near him began running at different speeds than ones farther away. |
