I was wondering if anyone knew anything about what could potentially happen in a binding-gone-wrong. Is it possible that, if done improperly or with ill-intent that it could bring about an entity that wants or could cause harm to the person intended to be bound?

Hey Sereyna,
the short answer is that a lot can go wrong in a binding especially with wrong intent or against another person's will.

I didn't do anything.... This was done to me. Thankfully I don't think the binding itself stuck, but there is definitely something that has been attacking me.

Truth is, I'm not sure whether it was a binding attempt, or a direct attack. I don't know where it came from (though I do have ideas). But since I won't assume, I plan on doing a lemon ceremony with a backup plan in case it backfires and I just make it worse.... Any suggestions on herbal usage for ridding my home of this thing? I don't know what it is, I just know I've heard and seen it, and it is causing me extreme physical pain...

I used to be attacked by things while I slept i had bite marks and cuts all over my body. I start cleasing my house and putting up strong sheilds around my bed room. They have stopped but I sitll get harrassed every once in a while. It's not as bad as it used to be, it's tolerable. I sitll have dumb stuff happen like I'll be standing inthe kitchen and my leg starts to burn and i look down and there is a cut. I don't think it will ever stop because of the line of "work" I'm in, but it's very tolerable now. I've also dealt with these evil spirits or demons physically I've had them holding me down in bed before. I'm pretty used to it now I can get rid of them when they come aorund. :) I don't think this post will help, but there ya go!

If you still have a binding, it is inhuman, they shouldn't last long, unless they self-charged themselves or something. What you need is A SPELLBREAKER. If you'd be able to send copy that binding spell to the person who did that, and knew that the other person couldn't remove it, wouldn't you just love to do that?

well, someone has to know a valid spellbreaker (binding issue).
I would help you immediately unless I had this... thing. Smile

... well, find a SPELLBREAKER if you still have the binding in effect.

Technically, in most cases, one cannot be bound without giving permission to the binder. The exceptions are a few spells I know that are highly dangerous if used wrong, because they have the potential to permanently bind someone, and not just in this lifetime. I call that kind of spell a "null" spell.

This applies to both humans, non-humans, and even gods. Not even a god or goddess can bind you without permission.

If someone is harassing you, what I'd do would be simple... fight back and see who cracks first. I honestly return any attack sent to me whenever possible with more attacks. It always works for me.

And it doesn't have to be a curse or anything. A well placed thought form or an energy blast will do.

However, if you prefer to be defensive, I recommend shields, wards, and antimagic. The last one is a bit risky, as it can backfire worse than a binding.

Why would consent be required in order to bind someone? I understand that it would make the process much easier, as well as safer, but what makes it a necessity? It seems that a being with sufficient power to be called a god or goddess would have little or no difficulty bending a lesser being to their will. I'm not very familiar with restrictive magick, so I apologize if my question is rather ignorant.

It is a law of magic that isn't written down anywhere. Binding spells to bind power only work on a consenting person. You can create an illusion of one being bound, which a group of people did to me once, and by doing so drove me insane, but you cannot bind someone for real without their permission.

The only loophole I know of is a type of antimagic I know and have mastered that is very dangerous, and can kill the target if used improperly or overused properly, called "null magic." It's something I refuse to teach to anyone, since one who uses it can easily f*** themselves up permanently.

Anyhow, I know for a fact that bindings seem to work differently if, say, cast on a demon or other non-human being, by binding their will but not their power. I also know that a binding can be used to make a spell last longer, or even be permanent until antimagic is used.

And I know both of those things are not something a beginner should work with. I rarely even use them unless I need to, say, make an enchantment or curse stick, or make something subservient to my will... Both of which are rather rare occasions.

And while we are on the subject of bindings, simple mind over matter can break a binding or binding illusion. Believing you are bound will mean you are bound, and the opposite is true. I believed I was bound for one whole year, but then believed otherwise, and poof! I starting slinging spells like crazy.
